Western Sales & Services, Inc.

Western Sales & Services has served the Birmingham area since 1948, when Arthur Liles and Robert Bowie founded the company in West Jefferson County. We provide heating, air conditioning, plumbing, indoor air quality, and geothermal services for homes and businesses. Our work includes installation, repair, and maintenance, and our technicians service all makes and models of HVAC equipment.

Geothermal heat pumps are part of our residential heating and cooling services. These systems exchange heat with the earth through a ground heat exchanger, using relatively stable temperatures below the surface to help heat and cool a building. Our professionals install geothermal heat pumps for Birmingham-area properties, and we also provide geothermal service when an existing system needs attention. We can review a customer's comfort needs, discuss the available equipment, and explain how a ground-source system differs from conventional furnaces, air conditioners, and air-source heat pumps.

Our geothermal equipment options include American Standard packaged systems, indoor and outdoor configurations, air handlers, and water-based systems. Because system requirements vary by property, we help customers consider the equipment arrangement that fits the application rather than treating every project the same way. We can also discuss how geothermal equipment may integrate with forced-air or radiant heating and cooling.

Beyond geothermal work, we install, repair, and maintain furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioners. Our plumbing team helps with water heaters, leaks, and other household plumbing needs, while our indoor-air-quality services address air filtration and related comfort concerns. We serve Birmingham and nearby communities, including Hoover and Pelham, and offer emergency HVAC repair when an urgent heating or cooling problem occurs.
