Thumb Cooling & Heating

We’ve been serving families and businesses across Michigan’s Thumb region since Ron Mausolf founded Thumb Cooling & Heating in 1979. We began as a small operation with a straightforward mission: to provide honest, reliable heating and cooling services. More than 45 years later, we’ve grown into a full-service heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical team while holding on to the values that shaped us from the beginning—quality workmanship, fair pricing, transparent communication, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Our highly trained, certified technicians bring decades of combined experience to projects of all sizes, from a simple repair to a complete system installation. We install and service furnaces, repair air-conditioning systems, handle plumbing needs, and provide electrical work for homes and businesses. We also offer complete heating and cooling solutions for offices, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities, along with installation, repair, and maintenance for walk-in coolers, freezers, and refrigeration systems. For commercial spaces, our smart-building solutions are designed to help optimize energy efficiency and comfort. We are licensed and insured, and 24/7 emergency service is available when help can’t wait.

Based at 8430 N Van Dyke Road in Cass City, we’re proud to serve our neighbors throughout Huron, Tuscola, and Sanilac counties, as well as surrounding communities. Whether we’re maintaining existing equipment, completing a repair, or installing a new system, we approach every job with the same focus on excellent work and honest service. If you’re unsure whether your location is within our service area, give us a call and we’ll be happy to let you know.
