Since 1987, we have helped Central Illinois customers meet their water needs with quality installation, dependable service, and experienced professionals. TCI Companies, Inc. began as Tri-County Irrigation, a small operation founded by Mike and Joe Barth in Roanoke, Illinois. Over the years, we have grown into a multifaceted team while holding to the same goal: combine skilled workmanship with quality products and treat every customer with integrity and care.

We expanded into geothermal work in 2001 after becoming IGSPHA-certified. Since then, we have installed thousands of feet of residential geothermal loops and more than 3.1 million feet of commercial boring. Our drilling capabilities cover residential loop installations as well as large commercial projects. We work with vertical, horizontal, and pond- or lake-based loop systems, using the earth’s constant temperature to help regulate heating and cooling in homes and commercial buildings.

Every geothermal project begins with an evaluation of the property, including soil conditions, available land, and energy requirements. We then design the loop field, complete the drilling and piping work, connect it with the HVAC system, and test flow rates, pressures, and thermostatic controls before completion. We also offer preventive maintenance plans for ongoing system care. Because our experience includes water wells, plumbing, and other utilities, we understand how the different parts of a geothermal installation must work together. Our in-house capabilities allow us to manage the process from the initial site assessment and drilling through installation and long-term maintenance.

We take just as much pride in our people as we do in our work. From our location in Goodfield, we continue to bring decades of hands-on experience to water and geothermal projects throughout Central Illinois.
