Stratz Heating & Cooling, Inc.

We’ve been serving Big Rapids, Michigan, since 1970, when Stratz Heating & Cooling began with a simple promise: show up, do the job right, and treat customers like family. We’ve grown from a small local operation into a trusted HVAC provider serving homeowners and businesses throughout Mecosta, Newaygo, Osceola, and Lake Counties, but our values haven’t changed. We remain family-owned and operated, and our technicians live in the communities we serve.

For more than five decades, we’ve helped our customers stay comfortable through every Michigan season. We provide heating, cooling, indoor air quality, and geothermal solutions across all major brands, from emergency furnace repairs to complete system installations. Our technicians train regularly on new equipment, refrigerants, and efficiency technologies so we can offer informed guidance based on today’s systems. We are WaterFurnace and Trane Geothermal Certified, and we are one of the few Michigan contractors certified for ground-source heat pump installation. All of our technicians are EPA 608 certified to handle and recover refrigerants. We also hold a Michigan HVAC contractor license and are licensed, bonded, and insured.

We believe HVAC service should be straightforward. We quote the price before beginning the work, and that is the price our customers pay—without surprise fees or unnecessary upselling. When an HVAC emergency happens, we answer the phone around the clock with real technicians rather than a call center. Whether we’re responding to a furnace failure at 2 a.m., recommending a high-efficiency system, improving indoor air quality, or installing geothermal equipment, our goal is to provide dependable work at fair rates. We stand behind every repair, installation, and service call, and if something isn’t right, we work to make it right. That has been our standard since 1970.
