Snell Plumbing & Heating

We got our start in Virden, Illinois, in 1974, when brothers Ed and Maury Snell formed Snell Plumbing & Heating as a partnership. With guidance from respected area general contractor Auburn Roemer, we built our early work around service and repair rather than equipment sales. Ed’s ability to repair refrigeration equipment that others would not take on, together with his frank assessments of mechanical problems, helped us earn the trust of a loyal customer base. We incorporated as Snell Enterprises in July 1984, and the Snell family continues to own and operate our organization today.

As we grew, we moved into progressively larger facilities to accommodate more equipment and materials. We purchased our present facility in 1988 and opened a satellite branch on North Old Route 66 in Litchfield in the spring of 1997. That location focuses primarily on HVAC while we work to develop our plumbing presence in the area. Across our team of more than 30 employees, we provide commercial and residential plumbing and HVAC sales and service.

Our goal remains rooted in the same practical approach that guided us from the beginning: make repairs promptly and affordably, then give our customers enough information to weigh the cost-saving advantages of replacing aging equipment against repairing it. We service all brands of heating and cooling equipment and focus our new and replacement system offerings on high-quality brands. Our licensed and trained technicians receive ongoing training so they can handle work ranging from routine service and maintenance to complex installations.

We have installed geothermal systems in homes since the late 1980s. As a WaterFurnace GeoPro Master Dealer, we install WaterFurnace geothermal systems exclusively. We are also a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer. Whether we are working on plumbing, conventional HVAC, or geothermal equipment, we take pride in quality, reliability, clear guidance, and attentive customer service.
