Schaal Plumbing, Heating and Cooling

For more than 75 years, we’ve helped Cedar Rapids homeowners stay comfortable through Iowa’s changing seasons. We believe good service means more than completing a repair: it means responding promptly, understanding the needs of your home, and making sure you know how your system works and how to maintain it. You may know our “Call Schaal Ya’all!” slogan, but we want to earn your trust through the quality of our work and the care we bring to every visit.

Our heating and cooling technicians handle repairs, maintenance, system upgrades, and new installations. When winter arrives, we repair and maintain furnaces to help keep homes warm and systems operating efficiently, and we provide complete furnace replacements when it is time for an upgrade. During the summer, we diagnose and repair air conditioning problems and install energy-efficient cooling systems suited to local weather. We also install, program, and repair modern thermostats designed to improve comfort while helping homeowners manage energy costs.

Year-round comfort involves more than heating and air conditioning, so we also provide water heater repair and replacement, indoor air quality enhancements, and electrical services. We tailor our recommendations to each home rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, whether you need a full HVAC replacement, an annual tune-up, or a focused repair. Before an appointment, we can send you a photo and bio of your technician, and you can track the technician while they travel to your home. Our maintenance plans are designed to reduce long-term ownership costs and support longer equipment life, with nearly 8,000 neighbors already participating. Whatever service brings us to your door, our goal is simple: get the job done right and help you feel informed about the systems that keep your home comfortable.
