O'Brien Service Company

We’ve served Wilmington and communities across New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties since 1981, providing residential and commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building performance services. Our goal is to bring knowledgeable, proficient service to every client through a team that works hard and values honesty and reliability. Together, our team has completed more than 7,000 training hours, backed by many years of hands-on experience.

Our plumbing professionals troubleshoot problems such as clogged drains, low water pressure, running toilets, and leaks. We also install new and tankless water heaters, repair garbage disposals, install dishwashers and upgraded fixtures, remodel bathrooms and kitchens, convert tubs into walk-in showers, and provide drain and sewer services. Our licensed plumbers arrive in stocked company vans, answer questions, and provide an upfront price before the work begins.

For electrical needs, our network of licensed and trained electricians provides installations, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance. We troubleshoot issues ranging from flickering lights to faulty outlets, upgrade outdated or overloaded panels, install wiring for additions, remodels, and appliances, and rewire older homes. We also install new lighting fixtures, recessed lighting, outdoor lighting, and portable or standby generators. Our electrical safety inspections are designed to identify and address potential hazards.

Our HVAC work includes zoning systems for ducted heating and cooling in Wilmington and neighboring communities. By placing motorized dampers in existing ductwork, we can create zones that open or close according to the cooling needed in different rooms or floors. Whether you need routine plumbing service, a repair or installation, upgraded fixtures, or a tankless water heater, we’re ready to make caring for your home or business easier.
