Northwest Geothermal, LLC

We are Northwest Geothermal, LLC, based in Hayden, Idaho. Since 2009, we have provided environmentally friendly heating and cooling options for residential and commercial projects. We specialize in geothermal installations, and we are also certified to handle heating and cooling needs beyond geothermal. Our mission is to provide superior support while showing our clients how they can increase their comfort and be kind to the environment.

Geothermal systems use the earth’s constant temperature to condition indoor spaces by circulating water through a properly sized length of pipe. Geothermal heat pumps require no ventilation and offer an efficient approach to maintaining comfort. We can install ground loops for both small- and large-scale projects, with the type of loop selected according to the property and site conditions. Horizontal ground loops are common in the Northwest and work in many soils, although rocky conditions may make a vertical loop more appropriate. Vertical loops generally cost more to install, but they use less space and can accommodate a larger project on a smaller property.

Where conditions and regulations allow, pond and open ground loops may also be considered. Pond loops can be efficient and typically cost less to install, but they are currently prohibited in public waterways under state legislation. Open ground loops can operate efficiently when there is a constant water supply and suitable water quality, although they are not permitted in some areas. For commercial projects, we also offer Geocube thermoconductivity testing; clients may call us for pricing. We approach each project by considering its scale, available space, soil or water conditions, and the loop options appropriate for the site.
