Moncrief Htg & Ac

Our roots in Atlanta go back to 1898, when Stephen Price Moncrief founded Moncrief Furnace Company, the South’s first furnace manufacturing and service operation of its kind. Today, we are proud to be Atlanta’s oldest HVAC provider. Although heating and cooling technology has changed dramatically over the years, our core values have remained the same: high standards, respect, relationships, and accountability.

Our history includes generations of local leadership and innovation. The Mutz family acquired Moncrief in 1959, and we later introduced central and high-velocity air conditioning to help Atlanta residents through the city’s hot summers. From 2000 through 2023, we continued modernizing our installation, maintenance, and repair services with newer HVAC technology and customer-service platforms. In 2023, we joined the Ace Hardware Home Services family. We remain the Moncrief team our customers know, now with the support of Ace Hardware Home Services. General Manager Chris Compton, who has been with us for more than 20 years, leads us as we continue this longstanding tradition of service.

We install, maintain, and repair heating and air-conditioning systems for homes and businesses. As a Trane Authorized Dealer, we receive specialized training on Trane equipment, and we also install and service familiar brands such as Carrier, Rheem, and Kenmore, along with other common HVAC systems. Our capabilities also include gas and electric water-heater installation and repair, covering both traditional and tankless models. Our trained and certified plumbers work under the leadership of Plumbing Manager Justin Zalonis, whose knowledge of state and local codes helps guide our focus on safety, quality, and craftsmanship.

Whenever we enter a home or workplace, our technicians, engineers, and installation craftspeople understand that we are working in someone else’s space. We approach every appointment with care, clear communication, transparent pricing, and respect for the people who rely on us.
