We’re a family-owned and operated heating and cooling team that has served Pittsburgh and surrounding communities since 1957. From our location at 972 Banksville Avenue, just outside the Fort Pitt Tunnels, we’re positioned to reach customers across the area. Our continuity comes from the people who do the work: some of our installers and service technicians have been with us for more than 20 years, helping us preserve the quality and reputation we’ve built over time.

In August 2015, Jim Conley, owner of Controlled Climate Systems, Inc., purchased Metro Heating & Cooling. Controlled Climate Systems was established in 1971 by Jim’s parents, John and Dolores Conley, with a commitment to serving the customer. Jim continues that family tradition today and holds licenses in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. By bringing Metro’s residential experience together with Controlled Climate Systems’ commercial presence, we have the resources and team to support the HVAC needs of both homeowners and businesses throughout Greater Pittsburgh.

We install new heating and cooling systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits. We also repair and maintain existing equipment, install and repair ductwork, provide indoor air quality solutions, and perform energy-efficiency assessments and upgrades. Our technicians work with all major brands and models, and our maintenance visits include inspections, cleaning, and tune-ups. When urgent problems arise, we offer 24-hour emergency service.

Our focus is straightforward: taking care of our customers. Whether we’re helping select a new system, diagnosing equipment that is not working properly, or providing preventative maintenance, we aim to deliver prompt, reliable, professional service for homes and businesses. We proudly serve Greater Pittsburgh, including Oakmont, Upper St. Clair, Squirrel Hill, and Venetia, as well as surrounding communities.
