Lozier Heating & Cooling

We began as a tin shop in 1906 and have grown into a trusted heating and cooling contractor serving homes and commercial businesses throughout the Des Moines metro and central Iowa. Based in West Des Moines, we remain locally owned and operated, with ownership firmly rooted in the Des Moines area. Through more than a century of changing technology and unpredictable Iowa weather, our local experience has helped us provide personalized service built around each customer’s comfort, needs and budget.

Our licensed technicians provide HVAC installation, maintenance, repair and equipment replacement. Over the years, our work has evolved from coal-fired furnaces and boilers to high-efficiency furnaces and air conditioners, boilers, geothermal heat pumps, and solar-ready heating and cooling systems. Whether we are restoring comfort in a home or supporting a commercial space, we focus on honest recommendations, upfront pricing and dependable service without sales pressure. We do not use so-called “free offers” that are not truly free. We also provide free second opinions when a customer already has a quote, and we stand behind our work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Our customers have given us a 98% approval rating.

Our history has been shaped by generations of dedicated leadership. Long-time employees Thomas R. Gumm and Gary Pennington became partners with Bill Lozier in 1997. Jon Edelen joined us in 1993 and became a partner in 2006, while Ryan Zadow joined our team in 2010 and became part of our leadership in 2022. Today, Jon and Ryan guide us as we continue advancing our technology, service and customer care. We are also proud to have earned the Lennox Circle of Excellence Award every year since 1999, placing us among the top 65 Lennox dealers in North America. We have received the Dave Lennox Award five times, an honor recognizing the top 20 among 7,000 North American dealers, and we are the only Iowa dealer ever to receive it.
