Kutscher Drilling, Ltd

We began in 1925, when brothers E.B. and Lane Kutscher founded our water well drilling business after E.B.’s experience working in the oil fields near Luling, Texas. Our first well was drilled on the Brinkhoeter property on FM 1101. In our early years, reaching drilling locations could require long trips over limited and rough roads, and E.B. and his wife, Ethel “Posey” Kutscher, sometimes camped at job sites. E.B. worked with us until 1976, when ownership passed to his sons, Robert E. and Charles R. Kutscher. Robert and Charles operated our business until 2001. We are now owned and operated by Daniel Kutscher, Robert’s son, continuing three generations of Kutscher family operation.

We provide residential and commercial water well drilling, service, and repair, along with geothermal drilling. Our water well services include pump repair and replacement, submersible pumps and motors, booster pumps, electric motors, float switches, control boxes, pressure switches, well plugging, water sampling and analysis, well shocking, inspections, and down-hole video surveys. We also provide water softeners and treatment systems, filters, windmill service and Aermotor replacement parts, storage tanks, pressure tanks, reservoirs, concrete troughs, trenching, rock-saw work, and cable construction services. Our drilling capabilities include air, mud, and cable-tool methods, while our pump options include submersible, solar, constant-pressure, traditional, and booster systems.

Our mission is to provide good-quality water for the communities we serve. We approach water well service by using commercial-grade products, experienced technicians, and equipment suited to the work. We encourage customers to contact us when a problem first appears because a damaged or worn component can affect a well’s performance and place additional strain on other equipment. From our San Marcos location, we drill and service wells across Central Texas, including Comal, Hays, Caldwell, Guadalupe, Kendall, Blanco, Wilson, Karnes, Gonzales, Bastrop, Bexar, and southern Travis counties.
