Kohles & Bach Heating & Cooling

We have served the greater Des Moines area’s heating and cooling needs since 1945. From our Johnston location, we provide residential and commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair. We are a Premier Lennox Dealer, and our factory-trained installers and technicians work with Lennox equipment as well as systems from other major brands. Our SAVE-certified heating and cooling specialists can answer questions about furnaces, boilers, central air conditioners, humidifiers, and other comfort equipment, then recommend new equipment that delivers comfort at a reasonable price. Our 24-hour service department is available when heating or cooling problems need attention.

We have installed geothermal heating and cooling systems in the Des Moines area for more than 30 years. We install geothermal systems for new construction and repair or update existing systems. Our commercial HVAC services include maintenance, installation, and repair for small businesses, apartment buildings, strip malls, offices, and retail stores. We also operate our own duct fabrication shop and handle every aspect of installation for the products we carry.

Our Johnston location includes a 1,700-square-foot fireplace showroom with 17 burning displays. Visitors can compare a wide range of fireplaces designed to add comfort and character to homes and offices. Our full-service fireplace department handles installation and performs annual manufacturer-recommended cleaning and inspection services for Heatilator fireplaces.

We are veteran owned and operated, and we are proud to sponsor ValorFit. Customers can visit our showroom at 5185 NW Beaver Drive in Johnston, Iowa, or call us at 515-278-2900 to discuss heating, cooling, geothermal, commercial HVAC, or fireplace needs.
