KMS Heating & Cooling

We’re KMS Heating & Cooling, a locally owned and operated mechanical contracting firm based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our roots reach back to the late 1970s, when two engineers and a technician set out to incorporate alternative-energy applications into the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning industry. In 2021, Darlene Adkins acquired KMS from our founders after 13 years as an employee. Today, we are 100% woman- and minority-owned, and we remain committed to the local ownership, honesty, integrity, and quality workmanship that have shaped our history.

We serve residential and commercial customers across the full HVAC process. As a design-build firm, we design, sell, install, service, repair, and maintain heating and cooling systems for settings ranging from homes to some of Oklahoma’s largest commercial buildings. Our work includes conventional and geothermal systems, commercial indoor-air-quality solutions, ventilation, and traditional and tankless water heaters. Our engineers develop custom commercial HVAC designs, while our trained technicians handle installation and ongoing system care. We approach every project with the goal of providing credible, sustainable solutions that support comfort, health, safety, and value.

Geothermal has been central to our work from the beginning. We have designed and installed thousands of complete systems using millions of feet of geothermal pipe, and our designs and procedures have earned national recognition within the industry. Over the years, our leadership has shared geothermal knowledge with universities, technical schools, equipment manufacturers, utility companies, government agencies, architects, engineers, and the public. We continue to seek innovative ways to meet our customers’ heating and cooling needs with both time-tested products and energy-efficient options.

Caring for our customers is at the heart of what we do. Our mission is to deliver honest, experienced, and caring service every time, supported by professional integrity and a highly skilled team. We also believe in supporting our community and are proud of our ongoing partnership with Tulsa Girls Home, helping provide resources and opportunities for young women to thrive and succeed.
