Kleiman Pump & Well Drilling

We have served the water needs of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin since 1946. Our story began when Bill and Elaine Kleiman purchased Erickson Pump Service, which sold and repaired gasoline and water pumps, and renamed it Kleiman Pump Service. We started from a home in Kingsford Heights and added our first cable-tool rig there. In 1961, Bill’s son Harry took over and moved our operations from the backyard to a steel building at the junction of US 2 and M-95, where we remain today.

As our work with the iron mines increased, we added a second building, expanded our team, and invested in larger, more capable equipment. Our first heavy rotary drill was followed by additional drilling equipment, including a large diamond drill for exploration work. We also added a service truck with a boom to pull deeper well pumps set on galvanized pipe. Through continued investment in equipment and technology, we have grown our capabilities while remaining focused on dependable water solutions.

Today, our work is led by Erik Kleiman, Harry’s son, together with a dedicated team. We provide residential, municipal, industrial, agricultural, and exploratory well drilling and pump services, along with water treatment systems and industrial and commercial pump rentals. Since 2008, we have also installed geothermal loop fields, which circulate fluid through the earth to exchange heat with the relatively constant temperature below ground.

Customer service and safety are our primary goals. We approach water and geothermal needs with high-quality materials, trained professionals, and equipment suited to the work. From our Iron Mountain location, we continue to serve customers throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin with well-drilling, pump, water-treatment, and geothermal loop-field services.
