We are JBN Mechanical LLC, an HVAC provider founded in State College in 2013. Our owner, John Mason, brings more than 30 years of experience in the mechanical trades, including a decade with Penn State University’s Office of Physical Plant. As Supervisor of Project Planning and Estimating, John managed 25 planners and estimators working across mechanical, electrical, and architectural disciplines. That experience in project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and facilities maintenance continues to shape our disciplined, straightforward approach.

We install, repair, and replace geothermal heat pumps, standard and variable-speed air-source heat pumps, natural gas and propane furnaces, air conditioners, and ductless systems. Our specialties include geothermal ground-source heat pumps, cold-climate heat pumps, Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat ductless systems, and high-efficiency furnace and air-conditioning replacements. Since 2013, we have installed more than 250 inverter-driven heat-pump systems across Central Pennsylvania. We carefully consider system sizing, airflow, and duct performance to support quiet operation, dependable comfort, efficiency, and long equipment life.

Geothermal work is a central part of what we do. John has installed and serviced geothermal systems in Centre County for more than 20 years and is an authorized ClimateMaster dealer. Much of our geothermal work involves replacing aging indoor equipment while continuing to use an existing well or ground loop. We can disconnect the old unit, install a ClimateMaster variable-speed system, connect it to the existing loop or well, and commission the new equipment, usually within one to two days. When a new installation requires a loop, we coordinate with trusted licensed drillers while handling the mechanical installation and commissioning ourselves.

Our customers work directly with John from the first conversation through installation, final system startup, warranty work, and follow-up support. We do not use commissioned salespeople, and we are not owned by private equity. Our recommendations are guided by the needs of each property, with an emphasis on long-term comfort, airflow, efficiency, and reliability rather than sales quotas or one-size-fits-all equipment packages.
