J.A. Sauer, Co. Heating & Air Conditioning

We began in 1981, when Jack Sauer started serving residential neighborhoods in Pittsburgh’s North Hills, where he was raised. After several years in the HVAC industry, he set out with a determination to succeed and began building our customer base. Jack believed from the start in doing what was best for customers. Their continued trust—and referrals to friends and relatives—helped us grow. We later expanded into commercial heating and air conditioning sales and service across Greater Pittsburgh. Today, commercial work represents the largest share of our annual sales, while our family-owned and operated team continues to serve residential and commercial clients.

We provide heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services in Pittsburgh, Wexford, Cranberry Township, Sewickley, Brentwood, Dormont, Swissvale, and Uptown. For homes, our work includes heating and cooling maintenance, repairs, new-system installations, upgrades, and 24/7 emergency heating repair. Before recommending a new heating system, we assess factors such as the size of the space, insulation levels, and energy-efficiency goals. For commercial clients, we design, install, and maintain heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. We also offer customized maintenance plans intended to extend equipment life and help prevent costly breakdowns and downtime.

We install geothermal systems for residential and commercial properties as well. Because every property is different, we begin with a site assessment that considers soil composition, available land, and building size. We then design the system around those findings, selecting the heat-pump size, loop type, and layout to support performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

We are a Factory Authorized Carrier Dealer and a seven-time recipient of Carrier’s President’s Award, receiving it in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2018. We have also received several Carrier Distinguished Dealer awards, multiple Top Gun Sales awards, and an Angie’s List Super Service Award. As we have grown to employ more than 100 people and operate more than 50 fleet vehicles, we have remained focused on exceptional workmanship, customer service, and solutions tailored to each property’s indoor comfort needs.
