Harvey W Hottel Inc

Our story began in 1945, when our grandfather, Harvey Hottel, was sent to Washington, D.C., to design and install government food-storage plants as World War II drew to a close. At the time, comfort cooling was still a new technology and was not widely available to the public. Harvey believed it would eventually be in demand on a much larger scale. As air conditioning became increasingly common in theaters, stores, restaurants, offices, and homes, we grew to meet that demand by adding service and repair capabilities, plumbing, and contracting installation services.

Today, we remain a family-owned HVAC and plumbing provider based in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We design, install, maintain, and repair sophisticated commercial HVAC systems while also installing individual, cost-efficient residential units. Our capabilities include commercial heating and cooling, commercial plumbing, mechanical services, special HVAC and geothermal projects, renovations, and LEED-certified contracting. We work with traditional HVAC equipment, VRF systems, geothermal heating and cooling, humidity-control systems, air-distribution systems, and high-velocity cooling systems.

We serve commercial and residential customers across the Mid-Atlantic region, including the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Our licensed professionals use advanced tools and technologies to develop solutions suited to each project, from individual homes and custom builds to complex commercial facilities. Energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and environmental sustainability are important considerations in our engineering and system designs. As our capabilities have expanded, the values passed down by our grandfather have remained central to how we work: innovation, integrity, accountability, safety, and health. We are committed to delivering quality products and services while maintaining a highly trained team and a drug-free workplace.
