Geothermal Drilling Solutions

We are Geothermal Drilling Solutions, LLC, based in Lombard, Illinois. With almost 80% of the U.S. population living in urban areas, limited lot space and difficult access can prevent many homes and businesses from installing geothermal HVAC systems. We address that practical challenge with a portable, powerful drill rig that enables vertical loop installation inside and beneath structures.

Our fully modular system can move through tight entryways and be set up in spaces such as most basements, slab-on-grade buildings, and garages with a minimum ceiling height of 7 feet. It requires as little as 24 inches of access to a yard area. For exterior drilling, the system can use suitcase weights or earth anchors. This flexibility makes it possible to work with properties where space or accessibility would otherwise limit the options for vertical loop installation.

The system is operable by one person and includes two variable frequency drives for operating the drill rig and mud pump. Its modular construction supports interior and exterior setup while allowing the equipment to enter constrained spaces. The system is suitable for existing buildings and new construction, as well as residential and commercial applications.

Our work centers on making vertical loop field installation possible in locations that conventional drilling equipment may not be able to access. From our location at 820 N. Ridge Avenue in Lombard, we provide an approach built around portability, flexibility, and efficient use of available space.
