Garber Heating & Air Conditioning

For more than five decades, we have helped keep homes and businesses across Central Illinois comfortable through humid summers and hard winters. Ralph Garber founded Garber Heating & Air Conditioning in March 1972 with a straightforward idea: do quality work, stand behind it, and treat customers fairly. That approach continues to guide us today through honest recommendations, good equipment, and the kind of service we would want in our own homes.

We are family owned and operated and headquartered at 310 Detroit Avenue in Morton. What began as a small heating and cooling shop has grown into one of the larger HVAC contractors in Central Illinois while remaining in the Garber family. Ralph’s son-in-law, Brent Braker, joined us as an installer and service technician before spending years in the field and taking on greater responsibility. He now serves as our president. Remaining locally owned means we answer to our customers and neighbors—not a private equity firm, national chain, or quarterly earnings target.

Our residential and commercial work includes heating, cooling, indoor air quality, maintenance, and geothermal systems. We were among the first in the region to establish a dedicated geothermal division. For geothermal projects, we assess the property and living spaces to determine an appropriate piping layout and heat-pump requirements. Depending on the available land, construction may involve a deeper vertical loop or a shallower horizontal layout, and excavation is required. We serve Peoria, East Peoria, Pekin, Washington, Bloomington, Eureka, Metamora, Tremont, Chillicothe, and smaller communities across Central Illinois. We also maintain our longstanding partnership with Carrier, the brand Ralph selected because he trusted its equipment. More than five decades after our founding, we remain committed to the principles that started it all. We hold Illinois HVAC contractor license 11191.
