G.F. Bowman, Inc.

We began in 1967 as a small, family-run operation in George and Esther Bowman’s garage. From the start, our approach was simple: provide quality work, make service a priority, fulfill our commitments, and do the job right the first time. Over the following decade, we expanded beyond refrigeration to offer heating and air conditioning services, and during the 1970s we opened our first storefront in Cleona.

After George retired, his son Larry carried that vision forward. With Larry serving as president, we added plumbing services in 1986. During the 1990s, we expanded our capabilities to include indoor air quality testing, geothermal heating and cooling, water testing, zoning controls, and related services. By the beginning of the new millennium, we were also installing tankless water heaters and providing water conditioning, softening, and filtration. We opened our second location in Harrisburg in 2006, and in 2010 leadership passed to the third generation, with Jamie Yocum becoming president and Brad Bowman serving as vice president.

Today, we provide plumbing, heating, and cooling services with the same commitment to quality and customer care that has guided us since 1967. Our trained technicians install, repair, and maintain equipment including furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, hybrid systems, and geothermal heating and cooling systems. For geothermal projects, we can guide homeowners from the initial consultation and design of underground elements through installation and maintenance. When recommending a residential heating solution, we consider the home’s square footage, insulation, energy goals, and budget rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. As a family-owned and operated team spanning three generations, we understand our community because we are part of it.
