Fred's Plumbing & Heating

For more than five decades, we’ve helped homeowners and builders in Hospers and across Northwest Iowa with dependable plumbing, heating, cooling, and indoor comfort solutions. Our story began with one man, a trade, and a willingness to go where the work was. After 7½ years of plumbing in Ireton, Fred moved his family and work to Hospers, where he purchased Roos Plumbing & Heating from Harold “Bootsy” Roos. He later built our offices, and continued growth brought a dedicated showroom, warehouse space, a sheet metal facility in Sheldon, and additional cold-storage capacity. Although Fred has passed, his legacy of craftsmanship continues through our family, our team, and the care we bring to every project.

We handle new construction, remodeling, maintenance, and emergency repairs. Our HVAC services include geothermal and air-source heat pumps, furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, infloor heating, mini-splits, air exchangers, humidifiers, ventilation, duct sealing, and custom ductwork. We build our own ductwork in-house, including spiral duct, and design each system for the building’s specific use and load. From the initial load calculation to the final register cover, we coordinate the complete installation. Our work also includes WaterFurnace geothermal systems, Lennox furnaces and air conditioners, Navien and Electro boilers, Uponor radiant floors, and indoor-air products from Aldes and Honeywell.

Our plumbing team works on kitchens, bathrooms, Onyx showers, water heaters, tankless water heaters, water softeners, reverse-osmosis systems, sump pumps, fixtures, garbage disposals, gas lines, water services, and sewer lines. We also provide Roto-Rooter and jetting services. Our licensed and insured technicians continue their training to stay current with today’s systems and techniques. Along the way, we’ve been recognized for two decades of Lennox dealership excellence and earned WaterFurnace honors including Top Dealer in Iowa, Top 20 in the Nation, and the 500,000 and 600,000 Club Awards. Through every milestone, we remain committed to honest advice, transparent pricing, efficient service, and workmanship built to last.
