Flynn Drilling Company

Our roots in drilling go back to March 1954, when Mike Flynn Sr. founded Flynn Drilling Co., Inc. with a commitment to knowledge, experience, service, and dependability. Through years of hard work, he built the operation into one of Missouri’s largest drilling organizations by 1969. After Mike’s unexpected death that summer, his wife, Katy Flynn, took on the responsibility of raising their six children while continuing the work he began. She upheld the same principles until her death in December 1992 and earned the respect of friends and competitors in a field then dominated by men. Today, their son Danny owns and operates our family-built operation.

We have grown into one of the Midwest’s largest commercial and residential drilling and pump repair operations. Our team includes more than 60 people, supported by eight drilling rigs, 14 pump rigs, service trucks, and related construction equipment. We drill wells, provide pumps and motors for projects large and small, repair pumps, and offer maintenance and operation programs designed to help water supply systems run efficiently. We use modern drilling equipment and apply the practical knowledge developed throughout our long history. Danny also serves as chairman of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Well Installation Board, which helps regulate the well and geothermal industries in Missouri.

Our geothermal experience spans more than 30 years. We install heat-exchange ground-source loop systems using vertical, horizontal, pond, and open-loop configurations. Because soil, available space, site access, water conditions, and the amount of heat exchange needed can affect the right approach, we consider the specific requirements of each project. We are an accredited installer with the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association and are North American Technician Excellence certified. From our Martinsburg office at 200 E. Washington St., we remain dedicated to the values established by the Flynn family: knowledgeable work, dependable service, and sincere care for our customers.
