Eric Kjelshus Energy Heating and Cooling

Based in Greenwood, Missouri, we have served Kansas City since 1972, when our owner, Eric Kjelshus, inherited the operation. Eric remains involved in every aspect of Eric Kjelshus Energy Heating and Cooling, bringing the perspective of a Mechanical Contractor, Master Pipefitter, and Building Scientist to the work we do. He has earned more than 100 Certificates of Achievement and holds a GoldStar Building Analyst certification, while we are a GoldStar Contractor. Integrity, honest leadership, high standards, and quality service guide how we approach every customer and project.

We help residential and commercial customers with heating and air conditioning, plumbing and electrical equipment needs, solar power installation and service, energy audits and assessments, weatherization, insulation, and energy-efficiency and conservation measures. Our work also includes installing Energy Star qualified equipment and renewable-energy systems such as solar and geothermal. For geothermal heat pumps, we provide installation, repair, replacement, cleaning, and tune-up services. Our well-stocked, radio-dispatched service vehicles support emergency repairs, replacements, maintenance, and equipment service. Our technicians work competently, cleanly, and efficiently, and every employee is drug tested, passes a criminal background check, and receives ongoing training.

Our approach goes beyond replacing equipment. We use multiple diagnostic methods to understand the conditions in each home or commercial building and identify practical ways to improve comfort and efficiency through the Midwest’s changing weather. Eric’s depth of knowledge has led him to teach at community colleges throughout the Kansas City metro area and at the national level. He has also been interviewed by ABC and NBC about building performance and has contributed to changes in national building standards. By combining careful analysis with hands-on service, we help our customers make informed decisions about comfort, building performance, and energy use.
