Dragon Energy

We started Dragon Energy because highly efficient heating and cooling technology was sitting beneath our clients’ buildings yet remained largely out of reach. The technology worked, but the operational model around it was too complex and fragmented, often leaving building owners to navigate geothermal projects on their own. We built a different approach: one point of accountability for drilling, design, permitting, incentive coordination, and the local expertise needed to bring the full system together.

Our team comes from capital equipment, industrial operations, hands-on project delivery, and the field. That background shapes how we approach financing considerations, project decisions, system design, partner selection, and long-term performance. We focus exclusively on geothermal and coordinate a trusted network of local engineers, mechanical contractors, and HVAC specialists selected for their geothermal experience and alignment with our project-delivery standards. Our work includes thermal-load modeling and borehole-field design sized for the building, licensed MEP coordination with existing infrastructure, drilling through soil and sediment into solid bedrock, and management of local permitting, utility interconnection, and incentive documentation.

We are based in Richmond and operate across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Because we work here every day, we understand Virginia’s geology, permitting authorities, utilities, and regulatory landscape. From the beginning of a project, we align drilling, system design, mechanical engineering, HVAC integration, permitting, and incentive coordination rather than leaving owners to manage separate disciplines. By coordinating vetted preferred local partners and keeping responsibility centered with us, we make geothermal project delivery clearer and more cohesive from initial design through installation.
