Douglas Cooling Heating Electrical Plumbing

We are Douglas Cooling Heating Electrical Plumbing, a Pelham-based home-services company serving the greater Birmingham area. Our business began in 1972, and our work now includes heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, indoor-air-quality, and sheet-metal services. We serve communities across Shelby and Jefferson counties, including Pelham, Birmingham, Hoover, Helena, Alabaster, Homewood, Mountain Brook, and Vestavia Hills.

Geothermal heating and cooling is part of our HVAC work. We install, replace, repair, and maintain geothermal heat pumps for homes in Birmingham and surrounding communities. These ground-source systems move heat between the home and the stable temperature below the ground, using buried loops as part of the heat-exchange process. We can help a homeowner consider whether the property is a practical fit for a new geothermal system, arrange replacement of existing equipment, or service a system that is already in place. Our geothermal work includes attention to the heat-pump equipment as well as operational concerns involving the underground loop system.

Our broader HVAC team handles system installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement for heating and cooling equipment. We also work with conventional heat pumps, furnaces, air conditioners, ductless systems, ventilation, ductwork, and indoor-air-quality equipment. Because our electrical and plumbing services are part of the same business, homeowners can contact one team when a comfort project involves connected household systems. Whether the need is a new geothermal heat pump, routine care for existing equipment, or diagnosis of a heating or cooling problem, we begin by understanding the home and the service requested. Our service area is centered on Birmingham and the surrounding Alabama communities listed on our site.
