Dobbert Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.

Our roots go back to July 1974, when Eleanor and Tom Dobbert launched Dobbert Heating & Air Conditioning in North Adams, Massachusetts. From the beginning, our work centered on fire protection, HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal. What began as a local, family-run contractor in the Berkshires has grown into a family-owned, privately held mechanical contracting operation with offices in North Adams, Boston, and Nantucket. We remain closely connected to the communities we serve through charitable efforts and involvement in local business organizations.

We install, maintain, and service fire sprinkler, HVAC, and plumbing systems for academic, commercial, high-end residential, and industrial clients. Our experience includes projects shaped by significant historic and environmental restrictions, as well as fast-track, high-stakes work. We also developed a specialty in serving manufacturers in industrial settings in Western Massachusetts. Across our work, we focus on building strong relationships with clients, partners, and employees while continuing to learn, teach, and stay current with innovation in our trades.

Our HVAC capabilities cover new installations, routine maintenance, and urgent repairs for homes and businesses. We work with equipment ranging from chillers and rooftop units to single-split and multi-split systems. We also handle variable refrigerant flow and variable refrigerant volume systems, which can heat and cool different areas at the same time, and ground source heat pumps, also known as geothermal systems, which use the earth’s natural heat to heat and cool properties. Whether we are supporting a small commercial building, a large academic or industrial setting, or a residential property, we bring broad mechanical experience and a commitment to efficient, reliable indoor environments.
