D&W Mechanical

We’re a family-owned heating, cooling, and plumbing team based in Traverse City, serving homes, businesses, and job sites across Northern Michigan. We were founded in 1986 by Terry Dudley and Maurice White with a straightforward belief: do honest work, take care of people, and never lose sight of the customer experience. From the beginning, our values have been simple—show up, do what we say we’ll do, and approach every project with care and pride.

In 2019, Jack Ocobock purchased Maurice White’s ownership stake and stepped into a leadership role, carrying forward the vision that shaped our early years. Today, co-owners David Dudley and Jack Ocobock Jr. continue that legacy. We’re especially proud of the multigenerational team we’ve built here in our community. Knowledge is passed down, craftsmanship is respected, and safety and integrity guide our work. By teaching, mentoring, and sharing hard-earned experience, we’re helping the next generation of skilled tradespeople uphold the standards that matter to us.

Our seasoned HVAC and plumbing professionals handle residential and commercial work ranging from large installations to demanding troubleshooting. We’ve earned a reputation for taking on complicated, poorly designed, or difficult systems—including jobs others may not be willing to tackle. We look closely at every system and every detail to develop practical solutions and complete the work properly. We don’t believe in rushing, cutting corners, or settling for “good enough.” We take pride in leaving job sites clean, systems operating as they should, and customers confident in the care given to their project. Our name is on every job, and that means the quality of our work always matters.
