Carroll Water Systems

Since 1983, we have helped homes and businesses access safe, high-quality water. Founded by Ron Smith as a reliable resource for clean drinking water in Carroll County, Carroll Water Systems remains family-owned and operated. From our Cockeysville, Maryland location, we serve customers across Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Southern Pennsylvania. The values Ron established—service, respect, and treating customers and employees as he wanted to be treated—continue to guide our team today.

We provide residential and commercial water treatment, water testing, well drilling, well pump services, and geothermal drilling. Our process begins with careful testing and diagnosis, whether the concern involves a well or public water source, water quality, taste, or pressure. We then consult, design, install, retest, and maintain equipment based on the property’s needs. Our technicians design treatment and filtration systems to remove impurities, and we provide repairs, maintenance, well inspections, water-flow testing, system optimization, and well equipment replacement. For new wells, our work includes site assessment, permitting, and drilling to applicable state and local standards.

We are the area’s only authorized local distributor of EcoWater products, and we also service all major brands of water softeners and conditioners. Our team brings more than 130 years of combined experience to its work. Brian Smith, who began by joining his father Ron on service calls and installations, now leads us after serving in roles ranging from assistant and service technician to water consultant and sales representative. Brian Gaughan oversees our day-to-day operations, with a focus on our values, employee training, and doing what is best for every customer. Together, we remain committed to helping our customers maintain a reliable, consistent source of clean, great-tasting water.
