About Bertram Drilling
We got our start in 1976, when George Bertram drilled his first shot hole in Billings, Montana. From that beginning, we expanded into Pennsylvania, New York, and several other Western states. Over time, our work grew to include drilling services, drilling equipment, and performance tooling for mining and drilling operations.
In 1989, we began drilling ground-source heat exchange systems in Ontario, Canada, for residential and commercial applications. By 1991, we had moved selected drilling rigs back into the United States to drill heat-exchange wells for projects involving PPL Pennsylvania, Ohio Edison, Pacific Bell in California, and others across the country. In 2000, we added water-well drilling in Montana, California, Wyoming, and Western Canada. Our capabilities include closed-loop geothermal heating and cooling systems, also known as ground heat exchanges, as well as domestic wells, monitoring wells, rotary air blast drilling, and cathodic protection. Today, Bertram Drilling operates alongside Dando Drilling International and Energold Drilling as part of the Energold group.
Our purpose is straightforward: to do the job right. On every project, we hold our client’s best interests in the highest regard. We work together to determine an efficient, cost-effective, and safe drilling method suited to the job. With a wide range of drilling rigs in our fleet, we can accommodate varied drilling requirements. We also believe in open communication throughout the work. If you have a question, a concern, or want to discuss a different direction, we want to hear what is on your mind so you can remain confident in the project.
