Ames Heating & Cooling Inc

We’re a family-run home comfort team that has served Ames and the surrounding area for more than 60 years. Based at 1503 Florida Avenue in Ames, we help homeowners care for the systems that keep their homes comfortable throughout the year. Our approach is straightforward: prompt, professional service, honest assessments, and clear explanations of the available options.

We repair, maintain, and install air conditioners, furnaces, mini-splits, and geothermal units from a wide variety of brands. Our experience also extends to indoor air quality and whole-home comfort accessories, including smart thermostats, air purification, and humidity control. Whether we’re responding to an emergency, completing a repair with quality parts, installing a new system, or performing routine maintenance, our courteous professionals focus on dependable workmanship and practical guidance. We recommend and install quality brands that we would trust in our own homes.

Geothermal is an important part of what we offer. Our trained experts can explain the available solutions, help take the mystery out of the technology, and help homeowners choose a system suited to their heating and cooling needs. We offer a variety of geothermal systems and trust ClimateMaster in our own homes. We can also tailor geothermal heat-pump options to a home’s comfort needs, including heating, cooling, and hot-water considerations.

Regular care is another key part of year-round comfort. Our biannual service plan provides comprehensive maintenance for the entire HVAC system, with thorough inspections and adjustments designed to keep equipment running smoothly, maximize efficiency, reduce energy costs, and help prevent breakdowns. When heating or cooling needs arise, our trained specialists are available day or night, including for emergencies.
