We are a locally owned and operated HVAC contractor that has served the greater Tallahassee area since 1968. Our roots reach back even further, when Jim Perry worked as an experienced repair technician while attending college. After graduating from Florida State University in 1968, Jim helped establish Proctor Heating and Cooling. He and his wife, Judy, became the sole owners in 1978, when we adopted the Air Control Heating & Cooling name.

Our team continued to grow when Tim Hawkins joined us as a service technician in 2001. He became service manager in 2004 and was later promoted to general manager, overseeing our daily operations as well as our service and installation departments. Tim’s wife, Shanya Hawkins, joined us in 2010, bringing experience from Carrier and a background in the HVAC industry. Through the years, we have steadily expanded our technical expertise while building a positive, responsive relationship with our community.

Today, we serve residential and commercial heating and cooling needs with sales, installation, repair, scheduled maintenance, duct cleaning, and indoor air-quality services. We install new equipment and service all makes and models of existing HVAC systems. Our NATE-certified technicians receive up-to-date technical training, and we are a fully licensed, bonded, and insured HVAC contractor. We are also Tallahassee’s oldest Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer and were the first local contractor to attain that status.
