Abode Energy Management

We were founded in 2017 by Dave Boettcher and Travis Estes with a clear vision: progress in clean energy is best achieved through integrity, collaboration, and a genuine focus on what matters. Based in Concord, Massachusetts, we develop practical, innovative programs that advance energy efficiency and decarbonization. We make it easier for homeowners, contractors, utilities, and other partners to understand their options and make informed decisions about homes, energy use, and high-efficiency upgrades.

We partner with clients to accelerate national, state, and local decarbonization and workforce programs. Our work includes homeowner consultations, whole-home assessments and planning, heat-pump quote comparisons, contractor network management, training, technical guidance, and quality assurance. We support initiatives such as Boston’s Healthy & Green Homes effort, Clean Heat RI, Energize CT, the Energy Saver Home Loan program, and Mass Save programs. We also work with Municipal Light Plants to provide customer education, technical consultations, contractor vetting, and quality assurance. To date, we have completed 27,000 decarbonization consultations, compared more than 3,400 heat-pump quotes using our proprietary software and report, and supported more than 2,700 contractors through managed heat-pump installer networks. In partnership with Rewiring America, we have also helped train more than 1,780 advocates working in 48 states.

Our independence helps us remain focused on practical solutions, transparent partnerships, and measurable environmental and social impact. We hire local talent, partner with nearby contractors, and reinvest in community projects so that the funding behind our work benefits the regional economy. We are also a member of 1% for the Planet, committing 1% of our gross revenue each year to nonprofit organizations focused on environmental justice and equity. Since 2017, we have donated more than $600,000 to New England-based nonprofits, including $110,000 in 2024.
