AAA Northgate Heating & Cooling

Our roots in central Illinois home comfort reach back to 1948, when Warner Elson established AAA Heating & A/C in Creve Coeur. In 1977, Mike Kirk founded Northgate Heating & A/C in Peoria. Warner and Mike were neighbors who shared a love for the HVAC trade and an understanding of what local families needed. They also shared a belief that trust must be earned one customer at a time. In 1980, Mike brought the two operations together as AAA Northgate.

That commitment continued when Chris Baumann became president and owner in 2012 and when Brad Johnson joined as a partner in 2016. After a decade-long affiliation with a national brand, we chose to move forward independently as AAA NorthStar Heating & Cooling. Although our name has evolved, our foundation remains the same: exceptional care for our customers and strong ties to the community we serve.

We provide residential and commercial heating and cooling services for Peoria and surrounding central Illinois communities. Our work includes air conditioning, central air, furnaces, boilers, ductless mini-splits, heat pumps, geothermal heating and cooling, and emergency HVAC repairs. We install geothermal package and split systems, including options designed to work with existing ductwork. Depending on system design, geothermal equipment may be paired with a high-efficiency natural gas furnace or electric fan coil and may also help supply hot water. Before a geothermal investment, we recommend a whole-home energy audit to identify air-sealing and insulation improvements that could reduce the size of heat pump a building needs.

We believe caring for our customers starts with caring for our team. We want our people to have a great place to work, meaningful opportunities to strengthen their skills, and the satisfaction of being treated right. With 30 specialists and a fleet of 45 trucks, we support homeowners, multifamily properties, and commercial buildings, including 24/7 emergency HVAC repair. Our East Peoria location is at 719 Sabrina Drive, East Peoria, Illinois 61611.
